Teddy Graham Coffee Syrup Recipe

Teddy Graham Coffee Syrup
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients over low-medium heat. Don't leave the stove and whisk ingredients together as they melt.
- Whisk gently over low-medium heat for at least 2 minutes. You don't want the mixture to boil but you do want it hot enough to dissolve the brown sugar, honey, and salt. Keep mixing gently so the sugar doesn't burn on the bottom.
- Once all ingredients are dissolved together, remove saucepan from heat. Allow the syrup to mostly cool in the pan.
- Once mostly cool, pour the syrup into a glass jar or bottle for storage. Allow to completely finish cooling on the counter top before storing in the fridge.
- When ready to use, shake the bottle or jar of syrup, pour into your beverage, and enjoy!
Notes
- Stir, stir, stir – Do not leave this teddy graham syrup while it’s on the stove. The sugar can burn if the heat is too high and it needs to be continually gently stirred while the ingredients dissolve. So watch it carefully!
- Store in the fridge – Once you make this coffee syrup you can use some right away and store the rest in the fridge for up to a month.
- Consider your container – I’d recommend storing teddy graham coffee syrup in a glass container that’s easy to pour. It keeps drips and messes to a minimum. I use a repurposed maple syrup bottle and it works perfectly.
A dear friend of mine introduced me to this flavor of coffee syrup when she gifted me a jar she had made! I was hooked and started making my own, tweaking the recipe ever so slightly until I found my favorite combination of this viral coffee syrup.
When I’m making a special coffee drink at home, there’s a 50/50 chance I’m making it as I run out the door to adventure with my kids. So convenience is key for me as a busy mom.
I don’t have time to get out the individual ingredients for a flavored latte every time I want something special. With this recipe I can make a batch of syrup that’s quick to pour and go anytime!

Why you’ll love this recipe
- Easy and delicious – This teddy graham coffee syrup is oh so good and quick to whip up. Sweetened with brown sugar and honey with the warmth of the vanilla and cinnamon, it’s truly like a golden graham cracker.
- Saves money – If you break it down, this coffee syrup costs only pennies per serving. It’s much more frugal to make coffee at home and this recipe doesn’t sacrifice flavor for frugality!
- Saves time – No one wants to get out each individual ingredient every time you make a flavored latte. This recipe whips up a 10 ounce batch in 5 minutes.
Important Ingredients
This teddy graham latte syrup recipe takes only a few small, but mighty, ingredients:

- Brown sugar – Make sure to pack the brown sugar when measuring so the syrup isn’t too watery.
- Honey – Regular or raw honey is fine. Just make sure it’s plain and doesn’t have any infused flavors or it will impact the taste of the coffee syrup. You can also use crystalized honey for this recipe because it will dissolve during the heating process.
- Pinch of salt – My favorite salt to use in my kitchen is Redmond Real Salt. A high quality salt is key in a vibrant kitchen and in recipes like this one, salt is used as a flavor enhancer. So be generous with that pinch of salt in this recipe!
- Cinnamon – Choose ground cinnamon for this recipe. Cinnamon sticks will not work.
- Vanilla extract – Maybe I’m biased, but there is nothing like the flavor of homemade vanilla extract. I think it levels up any sweet treat recipe. Any kind of vanilla extract will do, but if you want to kick it up a notch, use homemade. I like this recipe from Natasha’s Kitchen.

How to Make Teddy Graham Coffee Syrup
Step 1: In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients over low-medium heat. Stay right there and don’t leave the stove. You’ll need to whisk the ingredients together as they melt.
Step 2: Whisk the mixture gently over low-medium heat for 2 minutes. You don’t want the mixture to boil but you do want it hot enough to dissolve the brown sugar, honey, and salt. Keep mixing gently so the sugar doesn’t burn on the bottom.
Step 3: Once all ingredients are dissolved together, remove saucepan from heat. Allow the syrup to mostly cool in the pan.

Step 4: Once mostly cool, pour the syrup into a glass jar or bottle for storage. Allow to completely finish cooling on the counter top before storing in the fridge.
I like to use a silicone funnel to make it easy to pour into my container. I recommend using a glass storage container that’s easy to pour from so it makes it easier and mess-free to add the syrup to coffee.

Step 5: When ready to use, shake the bottle or jar of syrup, pour into your beverage, and enjoy!
